Audio Visual Installation – Driffield Methodist Church
Definition Audio Visual is pleased to announce the successful completion of a professional audio visual installation at Driffield Methodist Church, significantly enhancing the worship experience for its congregation. The project focused on the church’s newly constructed main worship area and included a high-quality sound system, hearing loop integration, and advanced HDMI distribution for visual content.
High-Quality Audio System Installation
To deliver clear and immersive sound throughout the main worship space, we installed four Bose 402 loudspeakers, painted white to blend seamlessly with the interior.
-
Two speakers were positioned on each side of the main area for balanced audio coverage.
-
A QSC stereo amplifier powers the system, housed neatly in a dedicated control cupboard.
-
Audio inputs from the existing Sennheiser radio microphones were integrated through XLR wall panels for convenience and familiarity.
-
A Allen & Heath Qu-16 provides central control over all audio channels, connected to the amplifier via XLR input plates.
This setup ensures consistent, high-quality sound for worship services, announcements, and live performances.
Advanced Visual Installation
The visual system was designed to provide high-definition content visible from every seat:
-
Two Iiyama 86″ screens installed on either side of the stage.
-
Screens are driven by a Kramer HDMI over CAT6 distribution system, including an HDMI switcher and 1-in-4-out distribution amplifier.
-
Three HDMI over CAT6 receivers are strategically placed to ensure reliable signal transmission across the entire worship area.
-
An active HDMI input plate on stage allows easy connection of laptops or other devices.
-
A 32″ Samsung commercial TV connected via an HDMI output plate serves as a preview monitor for presenters.
This integration ensures seamless presentations, media playback, and enhanced engagement during services.
Hearing Loop System for Accessibility
To improve accessibility for hearing-impaired members, a robust hearing loop system was installed:
-
Two perimeter loops constructed with flat copper tape beneath the wooden floor.
-
Loops powered by a Ampetronic dual hearing loop amplifier.
The system delivers clear, amplified audio directly to hearing aids, ensuring inclusive access for all attendees.
A Comprehensive AV Solution for Worship
This audio visual installation at Driffield Methodist Church provides a user-friendly, reliable, and versatile system capable of supporting a wide range of worship activities. Key benefits include:

Audio Visual Installation – Small Meeting Room, Driffield Methodist Church
As part of the comprehensive AV upgrade at Driffield Methodist Church, we also completed a professional audio visual installation in the church’s small meeting room, ensuring accessibility, clear audio, and modern projection capabilities.
Hearing Loop System for Accessibility
To support hearing-impaired attendees, we installed a Ampetronic hearing loop system:
-
Flat copper tape installed discreetly beneath the wooden floor.
-
Connected to a dedicated Ampetronic hearing loop amplifier for reliable audio delivery.
-
Two Audio-Technica AT875 were installed in the ceiling to capture speech clearly for amplification through the hearing loop.
This system provides full coverage for participants using hearing aids, ensuring inclusive communication during meetings or small gatherings.
Projection and Visual Display
For visual presentations, we installed a Epson projector, projecting onto the room’s main white wall.
-
The projector is connected via a Kramer active HDMI over CAT6 wall plate, which transmits the signal to a HDMI over CAT6 receiver at the projector.
-
This setup allows high-quality, reliable projection from laptops or other HDMI sources, ideal for presentations, training sessions, or video playback.
Audio System Integration
To maintain excellent audio clarity while optimising resources, we re-used the client’s existing Inter-M amplifier and column speakers.
-
The amplifier drives the existing column speaker array, providing consistent sound coverage throughout the small meeting room.
-
Combined with the new ceiling microphones and hearing loop, this creates a versatile, fully functional audio system suitable for meetings, presentations, and small events.
Summary of AV Upgrades for the Meeting Room
This installation delivers a modern, accessible, and user-friendly audio visual environment for the church’s small meeting space, including:
-
Integrated hearing loop for hearing aid users
-
Ceiling-mounted microphones for clear speech capture
-
Reliable Epson projector with HDMI over CAT6 distribution
-
Re-used Inter-M amplifier and column speakers for optimal sound
Together with the main worship hall AV system, this ensures Driffield Methodist Church now has a complete, flexible audio visual infrastructure suitable for all types of church activities.
