Audio Visual Installation Worksop

Definition Audio Visual recently completed a commercial Audio Visual installation at The Lion Hotel Worksop, upgrading two function rooms with modern audio visual systems designed to support conferences, weddings, civil ceremonies, and corporate events.

Main Function Room AV System

The main function room now benefits from a professional projection and sound system designed for presentations, entertainment, and event hosting.

Projection System

A Panasonic 5000 ANSI lumen projector was installed using a B-Tech AV Mounts short-arm projector bracket, securely fixed to an existing wooden beam for optimal positioning.

The projector displays onto a motorised projection screen, providing a large and clear display suitable for presentations, video playback, and televised events.

To ensure flexible connectivity, we installed a low-level VGA and HDMI connection plate, allowing presenters to easily connect laptops and other devices.

Central AV Equipment

All core AV equipment for the main room is housed within a dedicated cupboard, ensuring a clean installation and easy system management. The equipment includes:

• Denon 5-disc CD player for music playback
• Phonic amplifier powering the sound system
• Audio-Technica wireless radio microphone system for speeches and announcements
• Freeview receiver enabling live television broadcasts such as sports events
• Cloud Electronics two-zone mixer for flexible audio routing

Main Room Sound System

The main function room features four Apart Audio wall-mounted speakers, finished in white to blend with the room décor. These speakers provide even sound coverage across the space for music, speeches, and presentations.

An audio input plate near the bar area allows staff to easily connect external audio sources such as phones or music players, ideal for wedding ceremonies, background music, or private events.

The Cloud two-zone mixer allows audio from the main room to be routed into the adjoining function room, enabling the two spaces to operate either independently or together as a single larger venue.

Small Function Room AV System

The second function room was also upgraded with its own dedicated audio visual setup.

Display System

A Sahara Presentation Systems 65-inch HD television was installed on the main wall, providing a clear display for presentations, slideshows, and video playback.

Sound System

Four Apart Audio speakers were installed throughout the room to deliver balanced sound coverage.

The control cupboard in this room houses:

• Cloud zone mixer
• Phonic amplifier
• Audio-Technica handheld wireless microphone system

This setup ensures the smaller room can host presentations, speeches, and smaller events independently.

A Versatile AV Solution for Events and Conferences

The new AV systems installed at The Lion Hotel provide a flexible and professional platform for a wide range of events including:

• Wedding receptions and civil ceremonies
• Live sports screenings
• Presentations and training sessions

With improved sound quality, modern display technology, and flexible zone control, the installation significantly enhances the venue’s ability to host both large functions and smaller private events.

To ensure maximum flexibility and ease of use, the room has been equipped with a versatile AV connection plate positioned at a low level for convenient access. This plate includes both VGA and HDMI inputs, allowing users to easily connect laptops, media players, or other presentation devices to the display system.

The installation ensures compatibility with a wide range of equipment, enabling presenters to quickly plug in and display their content without complicated setup.

Dual Source Display Capability

The system also allows the 65-inch LED display from Sahara Presentation Systems to show multiple content sources. Users can choose between:

• Displaying laptop presentations via the VGA or HDMI input plate
• Watching live television broadcasts through the integrated Freeview receiver

This setup makes the screen ideal not only for presentations and meetings but also for entertainment purposes such as live sports viewing, providing added value for events and social gatherings.
