AV Installation Completed at Kilham Village Hall, Driffield
Definition Audio Visual is pleased to announce the successful completion of a comprehensive AV installation at Kilham Village Hall, located near Driffield. The project was designed to provide a versatile and reliable AV system capable of supporting a wide range of community activities, including meetings, presentations, performances, and social events.
The completed installation combines a high-quality Optimal Audio sound system, a powerful projection solution, and modern connectivity options, ensuring the hall is fully equipped for both in-person and hybrid events.
Professional Sound System Installation
The audio system installation centres around Optimal Audio equipment, chosen for its excellent sound clarity and dependable performance.
Four Optimal Audio Cuboid 8 speakers were installed throughout the main hall. These speakers are mounted on Powerdrive wall brackets and securely fixed to the wooden support pillars, providing even sound distribution and ensuring clear audio coverage across the entire space.
The system is powered by a Crown Audio stereo amplifier, delivering reliable and consistent performance for speech and music playback.
High-Brightness Projection System
To support presentations and visual content, we installed a high-performance NEC 8000-lumen WUXGA laser projector, mounted on a PV Mounts wall arm bracket at the far end of the hall.
The projector uses a long-throw lens to project onto a large Sapphire 3-metre motorised projection screen, creating a bright and highly visible image suitable for large audiences and well-lit environments.
Due to the distance between the projection system and the equipment cabinet, we installed a HD Anywhere HDMI over CAT6 sender and receiver kit, ensuring reliable high-quality signal transmission with minimal loss.
Central Equipment Rack
All core AV equipment is neatly housed within a secure wall-mounted equipment cabinet. The rack includes a range of professional components to manage audio and video sources effectively, including:
- A Behringer 12-channel rack-mount mixer for audio control
- A Denon media player with Bluetooth connectivity
- Two Sennheiser wireless microphone systems (handheld and lapel)
- An Ampetronic hearing loop amplifier for assistive listening
- A **Roland Rubix 22 USB mixer for audio interfacing
The system also integrates with the Village Hall’s existing CCTV infrastructure, consolidating key technology systems within one central location.
Video Conferencing Capability
To support the growing demand for hybrid meetings and remote participation, we installed a Huddly IQ camera on a wall bracket overlooking the hall.
This intelligent conferencing camera provides a wide field of view, making it ideal for capturing meetings, presentations, and community events. The camera works in conjunction with the Rubix USB mixer, enabling high-quality audio to be sent directly into conferencing platforms for professional online communication.
A Modern Community AV System
This installation has significantly enhanced the technical capabilities of Kilham Village Hall, providing a modern AV system that supports:
- Community meetings
- Presentations and training sessions
- Performances and entertainment events
- Hybrid and online meetings
- Public announcements and multimedia playback
By combining professional sound, high-brightness projection, and integrated video conferencing installation, the hall now has a flexible system designed to serve the local community for many years to come.
Definition Audio Visual is proud to have delivered a solution that meets the needs of the venue while providing reliable, easy-to-use technology for all hall users.

Hearing Loop System Installation at Kilham Village Hall
Kilham Village Hall is committed to accessibility, and we have taken steps to make our spaces more inclusive. Our small meeting room, located adjacent to the main hall, now features a dedicated hearing loop system, allowing visitors and community members with hearing aids to fully participate in meetings, presentations, and small events.
Ampetronic CLS2 Amplifier for Small Meeting Rooms
At the core of the system is the Ampetronic CLS2, a compact and reliable amplifier designed for smaller meeting environments. The amplifier powers a perimeter loop cable installed at high level around the room, creating consistent magnetic field coverage. Hearing aid users can simply switch their devices to the “T” (telecoil) setting to receive clear, direct audio.
High-Quality Audio with Audio-Technica Microphone
To ensure excellent sound quality, we installed an Audio-Technica shotgun microphone. This microphone captures focused speech while reducing background noise, ensuring that conversations, presentations, and discussions are transmitted clearly through the hearing loop system.
Inclusive and Accessible Communication
The combination of the Ampetronic amplifier, perimeter loop cable, and directional microphone delivers a reliable assistive listening solution. This improves speech intelligibility for hearing aid users and makes the meeting room a truly inclusive space, enabling all community members to engage comfortably in events and activities.
