Definition Audio Visual recently completed a professional AV Installation in Selby at Osgodby Village Hall, replacing an ageing and unreliable AV system with a modern, fully integrated solution designed to support community events, presentations, meetings and film screenings.

Following a comprehensive site survey, we designed and installed a bespoke AV system that delivers high-quality sound, bright Full HD projection and simple day-to-day operation. High-Definition Projection System

To create a professional visual experience, we installed a high-performance projector system installation capable of supporting everything from business presentations to community cinema evenings.

The installation includes:

• BenQ 5,000-lumen Full HD projector
• 125-inch motorised projection screen discreetly concealed behind the stage fascia

The high-brightness projector delivers crisp, vibrant images with excellent visibility throughout the hall, making it ideal for presentations, training sessions, films and community events.

All projection equipment is securely housed within a lockable wall-mounted equipment rack, ensuring reliable operation while protecting the system from unauthorised access.

The system also incorporates both a laptop connection and a Panasonic DVD player, allowing users to switch quickly between presentation content and video playback.

Professional Village Hall Sound System Installation

Clear, consistent audio was a key requirement for this multi-purpose community venue.

To provide balanced sound coverage throughout the hall, we installed four Apart Audio MASK8 loudspeakers, finished in white to complement the interior décor.

Two loudspeakers are positioned either side of the stage, while the remaining pair are installed further down the hall to provide even audio coverage across the audience area.

This distributed speaker layout delivers excellent speech intelligibility for meetings and presentations while providing rich, full-range sound for performances, film screenings and community events.

Audio Equipment and System Control

All core AV equipment is installed within a secure wall-mounted rack cabinet, creating a tidy, reliable and easy-to-maintain installation.

The equipment rack includes:

• Cloud mixer-zoner
• QSC professional power amplifier
• Apart Audio CD player
• Audio-Technica wireless handheld microphone system

To make the system straightforward to operate, dedicated connection plates and a Cloud RSL6 wall controller were installed, allowing users to adjust volume levels and select audio sources without accessing the equipment rack.

This intuitive control system ensures the hall can be operated confidently by users with little or no technical experience.

Hearing Loop Installation

Accessibility formed an important part of the overall project.

We installed a professional Ampetronic hearing loop system using a perimeter loop configuration to provide reliable coverage throughout the main hall.

Visitors with hearing aids fitted with a telecoil (“T”) setting can receive clear audio directly from the sound system, significantly improving speech clarity during meetings, presentations, performances and film screenings.

This installation helps ensure the venue remains welcoming and accessible for every member of the local community.
