Professional Audio Visual Installation for Osgodby Village Hall

Definition Audio Visual recently completed a comprehensive AV installation in Selby at Osgodby Village Hall, transforming an outdated and non-operational system into a modern, easy-to-use audio visual solution for the local community.

The hall required a complete upgrade to support presentations, meetings, film screenings and community events. Following a detailed site survey, we designed and installed a fully integrated AV system that delivers high-quality sound, bright Full HD projection and straightforward day-to-day operation for users of all experience levels.

Projection System Installation

To provide a professional visual experience for presentations and film nights, we installed a high-performance projection system comprising:

• 125-inch motorised projection screen discreetly concealed behind the stage fascia
• BenQ 5,000-lumen Full HD projector for bright, sharp and vibrant images

The projector and source equipment are housed within a secure wall-mounted equipment rack, ensuring reliable operation while protecting the system from unauthorised access.

Both a laptop connection and a Panasonic DVD player are integrated into the system, allowing users to switch between presentation and video playback sources quickly and easily.

Village Hall Sound System Installation

For the sound system installation clear and consistent audio coverage was essential for a multi-purpose community venue.

We installed four Apart Audio MASK8 loudspeakers finished in white to complement the interior of the hall. Two loudspeakers are positioned either side of the projection screen, while the remaining two are installed further down the hall to provide balanced sound coverage throughout the seating area.

This distributed loudspeaker arrangement delivers excellent speech intelligibility for meetings and presentations, while also providing full-range sound for film screenings, performances and community events.

Audio Control and Equipment Rack

All core audio equipment is installed within a secure wall-mounted rack cabinet, creating a neat, reliable and easy-to-maintain installation.

The rack contains:

• Cloud mixer-zoner for flexible audio routing
• QSC power amplifier for reliable amplification
• Apart Audio CD player for background music playback
• Audio-Technica wireless handheld microphone system for speeches, presentations and events

For simple day-to-day operation, we also installed dedicated connection plates and a Cloud RSL6 wall controller, allowing users to select sources and adjust volume levels without accessing the equipment rack.

Hearing Loop Installation

Accessibility was an important part of the project.

A professional Ampetronic hearing loop system was integrated into the hall using a perimeter loop design, providing consistent coverage throughout the venue.

Visitors with compatible hearing aids can switch to the T (telecoil) setting and receive clear, interference-free audio directly from the sound system, significantly improving speech intelligibility during presentations, meetings and film screenings.
