AV Installations Driffield

We are pleased to announce the successful completion of a comprehensive AV installation for Driffield Town Council at Cass Hall. The hall is a versatile community venue used for meetings, public functions, and a wide range of events, so the project focused on delivering a flexible and high-performance AV solution to suit multiple applications.

The newly installed system provides high-quality projection, professional audio, and integrated video conferencing, ensuring the venue is well equipped for modern presentations, hybrid meetings, and community events.

Projection System

To provide clear and impactful visuals for presentations and multimedia content, a large-format projection system was installed.

A 3-metre Sapphire motorised projection screen in a 16:10 widescreen format now provides an expansive display area at the front of the hall. The screen is paired with a powerful Epson WUXGA Laser Projector, delivering bright, high-resolution imagery suitable for large audiences and well-lit environments.

The projector was mounted using the hall’s existing bracket and pole system, allowing for a secure installation while maintaining optimal projection alignment.

Flexible Connectivity

Ease of use for presenters was an important consideration. To allow simple connection for laptops and other devices, two Lindy active HDMI input plates were installed — one at the front of the hall and another on the side wall.

This provides convenient connection points for meetings, presentations, and guest speakers, ensuring the system can be used from multiple positions within the room.

Integrated Video Conferencing

To support hybrid meetings and remote communication, a Biamp VBC 2500 video conferencing unit was installed beneath the projection screen.

This compact conferencing solution combines:

• Integrated speakers

• Built-in microphone array

• High-quality camera

• Local USB connection plate

This setup allows the hall to easily host video meetings, remote presentations, and hybrid council sessions, expanding the functionality of the space.

Professional Surround Sound System

To complement the visual system, a surround sound speaker system was installed to deliver clear and immersive audio throughout the hall.

The system includes:

• Optimal Audio Cuboid 6 speakers used for the left, centre, and right channels

• A Optimal Audio Sub 10 providing enhanced low-frequency response

• Rear surround speakers using Apart Audio Kubo 5 units

This configuration ensures balanced sound coverage for presentations, music playback, and multimedia events.

Audio Control and Processing

All core audio equipment was integrated into the client’s existing equipment cabinet to maintain a tidy and professional installation.

The rack now houses:

• A rackmount audio mixer managing multiple input sources

• Two Crown Audio power amplifiers driving the speaker system

• A dbx two-way stereo crossover for optimised frequency distribution

Audio sources include:

• Two Sennheiser wireless radio microphone systems

• A Denon Bluetooth audio unit

• Audio output from the Epson projector

This setup allows multiple sources to be mixed and controlled easily while ensuring excellent sound quality throughout the hall.

• Film screenings and multimedia presentations

The new system ensures the venue is future-ready, easy to use, and capable of delivering high-quality audio and visuals for a wide range of events.
