Definition Audio Visual recently completed another successful meeting room AV installation in Harrogate for a returning corporate client. The objective was to modernise their existing meeting space with a fully integrated audio visual system capable of supporting presentations, collaborative workshops, staff training and executive meetings.
The completed installation combines professional audio, high-quality display technology, wireless presentation equipment and intuitive touch-screen control, creating a modern meeting environment that is simple to operate and built for everyday business use.
Understanding the Client’s Requirements
The client required a flexible AV solution that would deliver exceptional sound quality, seamless presentation facilities and straightforward operation for users with varying levels of technical experience.
Our solution included:

Commercial Sound System Installation
The sound system installation provided excellent speech intelligibility was a key requirement for this project.
To achieve even sound coverage throughout the meeting room, we installed 14 Cloud CSC6 20-watt ceiling speakers across two separate zones.
The speaker layout consists of:
- Six ceiling speakers covering the front presentation area
- Eight ceiling speakers covering the larger rear seating area
This distributed speaker design provides consistent audio levels throughout the room, ensuring every participant can clearly hear presentations, discussions and multimedia content.
Power is provided by two Cloud VA2120 100V amplifiers, neatly integrated into the client’s existing JM Lecterns equipment cabinet.
Professional Audio Control
Installed within the equipment cabinet is an Allen & Heath Qu-Pac digital mixer, providing flexible audio routing and processing for multiple presentation formats.
The system also incorporates:
- Two Sennheiser wireless handheld microphones
- Existing Sennheiser wireless headset systems
This combination gives presenters the flexibility to choose the most appropriate microphone for meetings, conferences or training sessions.
For day-to-day operation, the entire audio system can be controlled from a wall-mounted iPad, allowing users to adjust volume levels, select sources and manage microphones without requiring technical knowledge.
Display and Presentation System
To improve visual communication within the meeting room, we installed two Samsung 50-inch commercial display screens mounted on articulated wall brackets at the front of the room.
To ensure every participant receives the same presentation content, the displays are integrated using:
- Kramer HDMI over CAT6 transmitters and receivers
- Kramer 1-to-4 HDMI distribution amplifier
This system mirrors content simultaneously across both Samsung displays and the client’s existing Panasonic projector.
Presenters can connect using either a desktop PC or the existing Barco ClickShare wireless presentation system, providing a simple and reliable presentation experience.
Custom Branded Presentation Lectern
As part of the project, we supplied a bespoke JM Osprey presentation lectern finished with the client’s corporate branding.
The custom printed acrylic front panel creates a professional appearance while reinforcing the organisation’s identity during meetings, presentations and corporate events.
An Audio-Technica gooseneck microphone was integrated into the lectern, providing clear speech reproduction and flexible positioning for presenters.
The microphone is mounted on a switched shock mount, allowing users to mute the microphone instantly when not in use while reducing unwanted handling noise.
