Commercial Sound System Installation Yorkshire
Definition Audio Visual has recently completed another commercial sound system installation in Yorkshire, providing a professional audio solution for the main function room and additional areas at The Irish Centre.
The installation was designed to provide clear, powerful audio for events, live entertainment, presentations and functions, while giving the venue simple and flexible control over its sound system.
For the main function room, we installed a pair of Electro-Voice ZX4 mid/high speaker cabinets, positioned either side of the stage using professional Powerdrive speaker brackets. A further pair of JBL Control 28 loudspeakers was installed in the upper room area to provide high-quality audio coverage throughout the additional space.
The completed system provides the venue with a reliable and versatile commercial PA and sound system, suitable for a wide range of events and applications.
Commercial Audio System Installation
As part of the sound system installation, we installed a lockable wall-mounted equipment rack close to the stage. The rack houses the main audio equipment, providing a secure and organised installation while keeping the system easily accessible to authorised users.
The equipment installed included:
- Cloud CX263 mixer zoner
- Crown XLi2500 stereo amplifier
- Crown XLi800 stereo amplifier
- Two Audio-Technica handheld radio microphone systems
- Apart Audio rack-mounted CD player
The Cloud mixer zoner provides flexible control of the different audio zones, while the Crown amplifiers provide the power required to drive the installed loudspeakers.
The wireless microphone systems also allow the venue to provide clear speech and announcements during functions, meetings and live events.
Flexible Audio Connections for Events
To make the system more flexible, we installed audio connection plates on either side of the stage.
These connections allow the venue to connect additional equipment directly into the installed sound system, including another mixing desk, laptop or other audio source.
This gives the venue greater flexibility when hosting different types of events and means external performers, DJs or event organisers can connect their own equipment when required.
Remote Volume Control
We also installed Cloud RSL6 remote volume control plates within the venue.
One remote volume control was installed on the stage, with another located in the upper room. This allows staff to adjust the audio level locally without needing to access the main equipment rack.
This is particularly useful when the two areas are being used independently or when quick volume adjustments are required during an event.
HDMI Distribution and TV Installation
As part of the wider audio visual installation, we also installed an HDMI distribution system to provide video to a television in the rear room.
The system incorporates a Kramer 1-in-2-out HDMI splitter, together with a Kramer CAT6 HDMI sender and receiver. This allows a Sky signal to be distributed to the television located in the back room.
The combination of the audio and video systems provides the venue with a more complete commercial audio visual solution, giving staff greater flexibility when using the different rooms.
